LSE is the world’s leading dedicated social science institution. Situated in the heart of London, students from around 150 countries join those from all over the UK. This creates an unequalled cosmopolitan student body, bringing a diverse and challenging perspective to postgraduate research in the social sciences.

LSE offers postgraduate research degrees (MPhil/PhD and MRes/PhD) across all of its departments and institutes. As a ‘laboratory of the social sciences’, the School’s academic profile spans a wide range of disciplines, from Accounting to Law, Management to Urbanisation. Applicants are invited to submit applications that complement the academic interests of the School’s staff.

LSE has generous doctoral funding support, in the form of 64 LSE PhD Studentships (a four year scholarship covering full tuition fees and a stipend of £18,000 per year), and 30 Research Council studentships. LSE is an ESRC Doctoral Training Partnership, with awards in most areas of Social Science within the School. The two schemes complement each other to ensure there is funding for all research programmes offered.

London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) will be attending the PostgraduateStudentships PhD Funding Fair in December – apply to attend the Fair and find out more here.
