Doctoral training centres and partnerships

It may be possible to undertake a funded PhD studentship via a Doctoral Training Centre, Doctoral Training Partnership or Centre for Doctoral Training.

Being part of one of these means that you can benefit from the research expertise and training of a number of leading universities, academic schools and academics. These centres are often interdisciplinary and you may be able to collaborate with an industrial or commercial organisation.

You will also study alongside a cohort of other PhD students.

Newcastle currently leads or collaborates with 13 of these centres in a large range of subject areas. See the ‘Training & Skills’ page of your research degree for more information
